Final home-stand starts Wednesday for Volleyball

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Golden Eagle Volleyball team starts a 4-match home-stand on Wednesday when they welcome in UM-Dearborn to Mol Arena for a 7 p.m. opening serve. Cornerstone is in a battle for a home playoff match as they are 11-5 in WHAC play and 23-9 overall. The CSPN will carry all matches at home for CU.

• Cornerstone starts a 4-match home-stand to finish off the 2018 regular season and CU is 13-1 inside Mol Arena this year
 
• The Golden Eagles are in 3rd place in the WHAC standings, two games back of Aquinas and three games back of Lourdes
 
• Head coach Ryan Campbell is 257-116 in his 10 seasons leading CU
 
• Cornerstone ranks No. 1 in the NAIA in Total Blocks

Scouting the Opponents
  • UM-Dearborn
    • The Wolverines come into the week with an overall record of 5-20 while they are 2-14 in league play
    • Head coach Eric Stark is in his 4th season at the helm of the program
    • The Wolverines are 1-6 so far in the month of October with their lone win coming on October 13 vs. Rochester
 
  • Lourdes
    • Head coach Greg Reitz recently surpassed his 200th career victory and has the Gray Wolves at 16-4 overall and 13-2 in the WHAC
    • Lourdes has dropped its last two matches and three of its last four but only one of those has come in conference play
    • LU has the conference's top setter in terms of assists/set as Carol Goncalves is putting up 9.92 per set
 
  • Siena Heights
    • Head coach Kim Barrington and the Saints are 16-10 overall and 9-6 in league action
    • After a stretch in which they went 1-6 at the end of September and beginning of October, the Saints have rallied to win their last five matches including a sweep of WHAC-leading Lourdes
    • SHU is one of five teams ranked 3-7 in the WHAC that are all within two games of each other
