ORLANDO, Fla. – The 2018 South Region Crossover All-Tournament Team has been selected, tournament officials announced Monday morning. Voting on the All-Tournament Team is conducted by head coaches of the Sunshine State Conference and Gulf South Conference.
This year's team features 11 student-athletes from the Sunshine State Conference, and three from the Gulf South Conference. Among the 11 SSC selections were four Eagles, the most of any team that competed at the event.
Olivia Roa, who was also a 2017 All-Tournament Team selection,
Erika Barbour,
Alyssa Rudd, and
McKenna James were all named to the squad.
Rudd, who was also named the SSC Setter of the Week for her performance, paced all setters with 142 assists and a 12.91 assists/set average. She also tallied 43 digs and 12 digs and was the only setter from either conference to be selected to the team. Rudd eclipsed 50 assists in two of the matches and registered a double-double in all three. She saved her best performance for last, totaling 56 assists, 18 digs, and three kills in ERAU's 3-1 win over Montevallo.
Roa was one of the event's top liberos, racking up 80 digs at an average of 7.27 per set, while also tallying seven assists and four service aces. She posted 30+ digs twice, including 31 in a 3-1 win over Shorter and 33 with a pair of aces in a 3-1 win over Montevallo.
Barbour led the Eagles with 49 kills and also collected 27 digs, 10 blocks, and three service aces. She had at least 16 kills in all three matches and posted a double-double with 16 kills, 10 digs, and six blocks in ERAU's sweep of Alabama – Huntsville.
James was dominant in the middle for ERAU, posting 44 kills and 10 blocks while hitting .362. She notched double-digit kills in all three matches and hit .324 or better in each match, including a 17-kill effort while hitting .395 in Embry-Riddle's 3-1 win over Shorter. James also recorded 11 kills and seven blocks in the Blue and Gold's 3-0 sweep of Alabama – Huntsville.

The 2018 South Region Crossover featured 24 teams squaring up in 36 matches over the course of two days. The Gulf South Conference saw all 12 membership teams participate, while the Sunshine State Conference included all 11 member institutions as well as the addition of Spring Hill College as the No. 12 seed. The event took place on October 19 and 20 at the Orlando Sports Center, marking the second time the tournament has been held at the facility. For the third straight year, Embry-Riddle went 3-0 in the tournament, improving the Eagles' all-time mark in the event to 11-1. In all, the Sunshine State Conference won 27 matches, while the Gulf South Conference pulled in nine wins on the weekend.
