What we’re about
Welcome to the Pacific Photographic Society of San Diego. We are an active hands-on photography group for all levels of photographers and for photographic expertise from novice to expert.
Our emphasis is on photography in the field and in the studio, as well as photo finishing, education and networking.
We offer our members a wide range of photography related events including several monthly photo shoots at various locations, seminars, classes, educational shoots and networking opportunities with other photographers.
We welcome all photographers from beginner to professional and seek to provide an environment that is friendly, professional and enriching for all.
We actively seek the input of our members to ensure that the group provides the activities that are both beneficial and enjoyable to participating photographers.

See all- Frog's Eye View, Repeat!Bea Evenson Fountain, San Diego, CA
For this event we will be shooting from an alternative perspective - a frog's eye view, directly on the ground!
Let's meet at the fountain at 8:00 AM for a group shot, then we'll move through Balboa Park in search of photo ops at ground level.
You will be shooting directly on the ground, not standing and shooting toward the ground. (If you have knee or mobility limitations, this may not be the shoot for you as there will be a lot of down and up.) I recommend bringing a gardening kneeling pad, or similar to sit/kneel on. If you don't want to place your camera directly on the ground, bring something flat to go between the camera and the ground.
You will not be able to use your viewfinder, so a flip-up rear display will be super helpful. For lenses, wide angle will give the most dramatic shots, so bring your widest and perhaps one other lens to experiment with.
