Beach Career

2017

Focused just on beach as a fifth year senior while in the IAL Masters program ... A key member of UW’s third-place Pac-12 Championship showing, as she held down the No. 2 and No. 3 spots during the year, going 11-8 overall … played most often and saw her most wins with Carly DeHoog at the No. 3 position, where they went 7-3 … also was 4-3 at the No. 2 spot with Courtney Schwan … went 3-3 with Strickland in UW’s six Pac-12 tourney matches, including a big win at No. 3 over 8th-ranked Arizona’s Devlin/Manley by a 21-19, 21-18 score in the 4-1 upset … also had straight set wins in the tourney over Oregon’s Johnson/Silberger-Franek and California’s Campbell/Anderson … first four matches with Strickland were all three set victories, one against Oregon, two against Boise State, and a crucial 21-19, 16-21, 15-8 win at No. 3 against Stanford’s Hentz/Keefe that clinched the 3-2 Husky win … paired with Schwan to compete in the Pac-12 Pairs Championships, falling in the first round to Arizona’s Witt twins, 21-11, 21-14 … was 4-3 with Schwan at the No. 2 spot, including a 24-22, 21-17 win over UCLA’s Tan/Yeomans in the Apr. 8 dual match … also a close loss to Long Beach State’s Pekich/Karelov at No. 2, 21-13, 19-21, 15-10, on Apr. 8 … played one match at the No. 1 spot with Crissy Jones, a 21-8, 21-17 loss to USC’s national champion pair Claes/Hughes in the Apr. 7 dual … earned Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention.

2016
Part of the Huskies’ No. 2 pair along with Courtney Schwan, going 9-5 overall and a team-best 8-3 in dual matches … named to the All-Pac-12 Second Team … four of their five losses came in three setters, and also won three three-setters … went 3-0 at No. 2 in the Aloha Invitational including a big win over Long Beach State’s Hudson/Konstantopolou by a 21-12, 21-17 score … had two straight tough losses to UCLA’s No. 2 team of Schmitt/Tan, falling in the Pac-12 Pairs tourney, 16-14, in the third, and then losing the dual match, 15-11, in the third … bounced back with straight set wins over Stanford’s Raquel/Vanjak and California’s Bark/Lamet as the Huskies won both matches … season ended with a close loss, 21-14, 20-22, 15-12, at No. 2 to Arizona’s Bonomi/Schulz … had a 21-17, 21-19 win over Oregon’s Bettendorf/Vander Weide in the 3-2 dual match win … barely missed a big upset in the Aloha Invitational pairs tourney, falling in the semis, 21-19, 19-21, 15-13, to USC’s No. 2 team of Bukovec/Strange … a Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention.

2015
Finished the season with an overall record of 5-4 as the top combo with Kaleigh Nelson … defeated Sacramento State’s Deal/Lovett in two straight sets 21-17, 21-18 for the duo's first win of the season … after falling in their first meeting with Elman/Schultz of Pacific, won the rematch two days later, 21-18, 18-21, 15-10 … traveled to Portland to take down Brenner/Ashen of Oregon in a dominant 21-12, 21-18 victory … in the second of only two three-set matches, defeated Cal Poly’s Greisen/Nelson 21-13, 18-21, 15-11 to improve to 4-2 on the season … capped a five-match win streak against Dodd/Salmons of St. Mary’s in a 21-16, 21-16 win … closed out the season in the quarterfinals of the top bracket at the Stanford Invitational, falling to Nightingale/Tan of UCLA, 21-14-, 24-22.

2014
Played as the top combo for UW in its inaugural tournament in Portland, going 3-0 at the No. 1 spot with Kaleigh Nelson against Oregon, Portland State, and Boise State ... in her first career match, paired with Nelson to defeat Norton/Finley of Oregon, 21-7, 21-14 ... came back from a set down against Portland State's O'Brien/Hughes to win 17-21, 21-17, 15-10 ... closed the day with a third straight victory, beating Gammel/Reardon of Boise State in another three-setter, 21-15, 14-21, 15-12.

Born in Pomona, California ... parents are Nancy and Filipo Strickland ... has one older brother, Tyler, and two older sisters, Alicia, and Arianna ... Tyler played volleyball and Filipo was a rugby player ... her cousin, Everette Thompson, played football at Washington from 2008-11, starting every game on the defensive line his junior and senior seasons ... a standout outside hitter as well as defender in high school, she was ranked 50th overall in PrepVolleyball.com's 2012 list of Senior Aces and fourth nationally among liberos ... named to the 2012 Volleyball Magazine Fab 50 ... named an ESPNHS First Team All-American in 2010, one of just 12 players ...
