N-3B Snorkel Parka

Stay protected. Constructed for endurance in the harshest cold weather, this parka is built to protect while completing your outdoor tasks. With features like the 100% nylon water repellent shell and the 100% polyester lining, you can tackle some pretty nasty weather. Proper fitting is a MUST to keep the heat in and cold out. The drawstring hood and drawstring waist will allow some customization to the fit. The parka also offers additional protection with the front zipper with button and loop closure storm flap. It also has sleeve pockets for carrying your gear. There are two snap-close chest pockets,  two lower snap-close pockets, and a zippered pencil sleeve pocket. This parka is constructed to keep you warm in temperatures rated  −60 °F (−51 °C).  The Rothco N-3B Snorkel Parka is an  excellent choice for unpredictable harsh wintry conditions. Tough enough for the military, it does not disappoint.  This parka does run large as it was designed for the military to wear over their uniforms.

HISTORY

The SN-3B Parka is also known as the “snorkel” or “scrub snorkel” parka. Developed in the 1950’s for the military facing extreme cold. It was given the name because after it was fully zipped up in the front, the wearer had limited vision. Later, the design was sold to civilian manufacturers and in the 1970’s -1980’s was released in many different colors. Today, there are many variances to the original but the parka still remains popular for use in extreme cold weather conditions.
