This Buick Super got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1941 Buick Super is a six-passenger, Model 51 Touring Sedan that is said to have spent over 70 years with the family of its original owner before it was purchased by the selling dealer on BaT in September 2020. It was subsequently featured in a BaT Success Story in November 2021. The car is finished in Sienna Rust over tan Bedford cloth upholstery, and power comes from a 248ci Fireball straight-eight paired with a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes 16″ steel wheels with polished hubcaps, chrome trim, a Sonomatic AM radio, and a heater. Services of the fuel, ignition, cooling, suspension, brake, and electrical systems were performed under current ownership. This Series 50 Buick is now offered with factory literature, recent service records, and a clean California title.

The Fisher-built body was delivered from the factory in Sienna Rust (568) and features a single exhaust outlet, rubber rear quarter stone guards, a driver-side mirror, a side-hinged hood, and a chrome grille, window surrounds, bumpers, and trim. The windshield wiper system was bypassed under previous ownership.

The body-color 16″ wheels wear chrome trim rings and hubcaps and are mounted with BFGoodrich Silvertown bias-ply whitewall tires. A matching spare wheel with a bias-ply tire is stowed in the trunk. The Series 50 rode on a 121″ wheelbase and features a coil-sprung independent front suspension and a live rear axle. Replacement tie rods, wheel bearings, hub seals, and sway bar end link bushings were installed under current ownership. Rebuilds of the front shock absorbers and drag link were also performed. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel hydraulic drums that were fitted with new wheel cylinders and shoes in 2020.
