This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II roadster is a non-running project that was acquired by the seller’s father in 1987. The car is finished in maroon over beige leather upholstery, and it retains a 4.2-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes a black soft top, 15″ wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and an aftermarket radio. The car will require mechanical sorting and corrosion repairs before it can be driven. This XKE Roadster is now offered at no reserve by the seller on behalf of the current owner with a clean Illinois title in the owner’s name.
The car is finished in maroon with a black soft top. The right tail light is cracked, the chrome bumpers are oxidized, and the body has dents, scratches, and areas of rust and faded paint, photos of which are provided in the gallery below.
The 15” wire wheels are mounted on knock-off hubs. The car has independent suspension and four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear components.
An aftermarket radio is fitted in the center stack. The front seats and armrest have deteriorated and ripped upholstery.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer while auxiliary gauges are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 65k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The car retains a 4.2-liter DOHC inline-six featuring dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, and it is linked with a four-speed manual transmission. The car does not run and will require diagnosis and repairs before it can be driven.
A section of the left-front floor has been cut out and other areas of the underbody are rusted through.
