This 1972 Porsche 914 is finished in Gold Metallic over black leatherette and powered by a modified 2.7-liter flat-six paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. The car is said to have been sold new in California and was acquired in 2020 by the seller and relocated to Ohio before being refurbished. Work included repainting the body, rebuilding and installing the engine, and replacing the brakes, wheels, and carpets. Features include 16″ Maxilite wheels, ventilated front disc brakes with alloy calipers, Bilstein shocks, front fog lights, a removable roof panel, Holley Sniper fuel injection, high-compression pistons, Solex-grind cams, and tubular exhaust manifolds with an M&K muffler. This 914 is offered with service records and a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name.

2.7L-Powered 1972 Porsche 914

The car was factory-finished in Gold Metallic (L97G) and was stripped to bare metal and refinished under current ownership. Equipment includes a black removable roof panel, black vinyl sail panels, chrome bumpers and trim, front fog lights, a driver-side mirror, 914-6 badging, and a modified rear valance with dual exhaust outlets.

2.7L-Powered 1972 Porsche 914

Black 16″ Maxilite alloy wheels have polished lips and are mounted with 205/55 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires. A matching spare is mounted in the trunk. Five-lug hubs are installed, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel discs with alloy ATE calipers over ventilated rotors at the front and refurbished nickel-plated calipers at the rear. The suspension features Bilstein shocks and a front sway bar.

The cabin features fixed-back bucket seats trimmed in black leatherette with textured inserts along with a matching dashboard and door panels. Black square-weave carpets were installed during the refurbishment, and equipment includes manual windows, a glovebox, and a fuel injection controller which is housed in the center tray. The dashboard is cracked.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer with an inset oil pressure gauge, a 120-mph speedometer, and a combination gauge for oil temperature and fuel level. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 79k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership.

The replacement 2.7-liter flat-six was reportedly sourced from a 1976 911 and is said to have been rebuilt and installed by the seller’s shop. Equipment is said to include Mahle cylinders, forged JE pistons, light-weight rods, Solex-grind cams, pressure-fed chain tensioners, and Holley Sniper fuel injection mounted to factory CIS intake manifolds. Patrick Motorsports oil lines and an anodized aluminum oil tank are installed.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Type 901 five-speed manual transaxle. A Patrick Motorsports clutch and 7.9 lb flywheel are reportedly installed. The exhaust features tubular manifolds along with a stainless-steel dual-outlet M&K muffler. The front floor pan has been repaired from a previous air conditioning installation.
