This 1986 Jaguar XJ6 is a Series III sedan that is finished in Claret Metallic over Biscuit leather upholstery and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes 15″ alloy wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, a power sunroof, automatic climate control, cruise control, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, a digital trip computer, and power windows, door locks, and mirrors. The car was acquired by the seller in November 2022, and work in 2023 included fluid changes, repairing the fuel tank drain and rear wiring, a valve adjustment, and replacing the cylinder-head gasket, fuel pump, thermostat, spark plugs, battery, exhaust Y-pipe, windshield washer pump, and ignition module. This XJ6 is now offered at no reserve with service records from current ownership, a Carfax report, and a Massachusetts title in the seller’s name.

No Reserve: 1986 Jaguar XJ6

The car is finished in Claret Metallic (CEA) with white pinstriping and bright trim. Additional details consist of a power sunroof, a “leaper” hood ornament, a power antenna, dual exhaust outlets, and quadruple headlights. The windshield washer pump was replaced in February 2023. Missing and chipped paint is noted on the hood and front cowl, checking paintwork is visible around the exterior, a dent is shown on the right corner of the front valance, and there is rust on the rear valance and below the rear window. Close-up photos of the exterior condition are available in the gallery below.

Factory 15″ Kent alloy wheels with gray accents and Jaguar-logo center caps are mounted with older 215/70 Pirelli P4000 tires. The car is equipped with four-wheel independent suspension, and braking is provided by power-assisted discs at each corner.

No Reserve: 1986 Jaguar XJ6

The cabin features seats upholstered in Biscuit leather (ADE), complemented by wood veneer trim on the dashboard, center stack, and door panels. Amenities include automatic climate control, cruise control, a digital trip computer, a factory AM/FM/cassette stereo, and power windows, door locks, and mirrors. The wood dash trim is cracked and separating, splits are visible on the center armrest, the upholstery on the sun visors is loose, discoloration is visible on the headliner near the sunroof, and the air conditioning does not blow cold.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, voltage, and oil pressure. The six-digit odometer shows 57k miles, approximately 300 of which were added by the seller. A mileage inconsistency is noted on the Carfax report in November 2022, and the report lists “Not Actual Mileage Title Issued” entries in December 2022 and January 2023. True mileage is unknown.

No Reserve: 1986 Jaguar XJ6

The fuel-injected 4.2L inline-six was rated at 176 horsepower and 219 lb-ft of torque when new. Work in 2023 included replacing the cylinder-head gasket, fuel pump, thermostat, spark plugs, battery, exhaust Y-pipe, and ignition module in addition to repairing the fuel tank drain and wiring at the rear of the car, adjusting the valves, and changing the coolant and engine oil. Rips are noted on the hood insulation pad.

No Reserve: 1986 Jaguar XJ6

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. The transmission fluid was topped off in April 2023. Corrosion is present on the underbody, additional photos of which are provided in the gallery.

The Carfax report shows the aforementioned mileage inconsistency and “Not Actual Mileage Issued” entries along with history in California, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts from an initial entry in April 1991. A gap in entries is noted between March 2016 and May 2021.

The current Massachusetts title carries an “Odometer Replaced” brand.
