BOISE, Idaho - Boise State announced its final version of the 2018 beach volleyball schedule this afternoon which features four home dates, including two against the Washington Huskies. Overall, the Broncos will play a 16-match schedule which includes eight against Pac-12 teams, two exhibition contests, one exhibition pairs tournament and a trip to Hawaii.

"Our schedule this year is really challenging," said head coach Shawn Garus. "We are playing a lot of high level teams on the road, so wins are going to be tough to come by. But we really like the opportunity for our kids to be challenged. We are going to places like Stanford, Washington and Hawai'i who are all solid programs and could be ranked when we see them. All three schools will present a tough environment for our team to play in. We are going to have to be sharp and focused not only on the court, but on how we function and prepare as a team. I am excited with the schedule and looking forward to those opportunities and experiences."

For Boise State the season begins at Stanford, Calif., March 9-10 where the Broncos will play four matches against Tulane, California, San Jose State and Stanford.

The blue and orange will then travel to Seattle, Wash., for three contests March 29-30 where they will face the Portland Pilots once and Washington Huskies twice.

Boise State will follow that with a six-match road trip that starts April 11th in Folsom, Calif., where the Broncos will play Sacramento State (their host) followed by an exhibition match against Foothills College.

The Broncos will then depart from Sacramento and travel to Honolulu, Hawaii, where they will play four contests April 14-15 versus the Arizona State Sun Devils and the Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine, twice each.

The regular season will conclude at home with four consecutive dates of competition starting with an exhibition match against the College of Idaho on April 18th at 5 p.m.

That will be followed on Thursday, April 19th, by the Boise State Exhibition Pairs Tournament featuring the Broncos, the College of Idaho, Northwest Nazarene and Southern Idaho. This will be strictly a pairs competition with no direct head-to-head competition between teams.

The season will wrap-up April 20-21 when Boise State hosts the Washington Huskies for a pair of contests at 5 p.m. on Friday and 1 p.m. on Saturday.

All home contests will be held at the Boise State Sand Volleyball Complex on the corner of Belmont Street and Oakland Avenue.
