The LB9 engine that came in this 1985 IROC Z28 was a 5.0-liter, 305-cubic-inch V-8 with a 9.5-to-1 compression ratio. This engine produced 215 hp at 4,400 rpm and 275 foot-pounds of torque at 3,200 rpm. This LB9 engine was only available with the 4 speed automatic transmission. Exhaust system upgrades increased power by at least 15hp
