Title
Iron age copper alloy Triskele mount
Description
English: Iron age copper alloy triskele mount, 24mm wide and 17mm high. The object is in fair condition with a dark green patina and weighs 7.68 grams. The object consists of a central short circular shaft, 6mm in diameter and 10mm long, which terminates in a loop, now missing. The top of the shaft teminates with a triangular form from which emerges at 90o angles, three curving shafts. The ends of these shafts disappear into the corners of a frame which is also triangular, but has curving lines. When viewed from above this forms a pattern of three 'teardrop' shaped holes. Where the shafts join the frame there are two sub circular protrusions, one above the other. A single protrusion also appears in the outer edge of each of the trinagles points.
