Katherine Heigl Puts Her Growing Baby Bump on Display in an Affordable Gap Maxi

Katherine Heigl is here to prove that you don't have to break the bank when buying your maternity wardrobe. The Grey's Anatomy alum stepped out in L.A. on Thursday in a universally flattering maternity style that you can find at your nearest mall.

Heigl chose a black maternity maxi ($60; gap.com) for the casual outing, giving us a clear look at her burgeoning baby bump. She paired the tank dress with an open white button-up shirt, flat sandals, a tan crossbody bag, and oversize sunglasses. The mom-to-be enjoyed lunch at Little Dom's in Los Angeles on the sunny outing.

Heigl knows a lot about motherhood--she has adopted daughters Nancy Leigh (nicknamed Naleigh), 7, and Adelaide, 4--but this is her first time being pregnant. The star recently told People that hiding her baby bump while filming Doubt has been a challenge.

"We started out with really high hopes of like, fitted, pencil skirts, and those really great Victoria Beckham dresses, and that became impossible pretty quickly," she said. "So now it's a lot of big coats. It's either a purse, a jacket. I think I should start carrying a big plant around, honestly--just to shake things up."
