BLOOMINGTON, Ind.  – As senior Samantha Fogg anticipated her senior season with Indiana volleyball she also took steps to prepare for her future.

Fogg took part in an internship program over the summer through Bank of America in Indianapolis and worked for three financial teams.

Fogg's mother, Kim is a financial advisor for Meryl Lynch and Samantha hopes to work for her when she graduates and learn more about the business.

At Indiana University, Fogg will graduate in December with a degree in Management through the School of Public and Environmental Affairs and a minor in Information Systems.

"These past two years I've taken some interesting classes that will really help me prepare for the future," Fogg said.

One of the projects Fogg did during her internship was organize an event for the clients of one of the financial advisors. She put on a polo match and said it was a positive experience for her and the event was a great success.

Fogg said she wants to be in a leadership role through management and has learned a lot about how financial advisors work and the industry.

Her coaching staff constantly provides support and emphasizes being a good person every day.

"Everything translates from what you do and how you act day-to-day," Fogg said.  "I think that is a big emphasis that our coaches make for us."

On the court Fogg knows her time as a student-athlete is coming to a close and wants to leave an impact.

"Senior year is about leaving a legacy" she said.  "Anyone that is a part of this program, I want to leave an impact on and leave it all out there this year."

Fogg says the biggest impact from head coach Steve Aird is he makes her want to be better.

"What he tells us is not just for one person, it's for the whole team," Fogg said.  "It's our way of life. What he says is how we should be and we are learning that day by day. Since the first day in January when we met him it's been a process, but I see it in myself and our whole team, how our culture is changing and how we are ready to learn and change with him."

Although Fogg will graduate in December she is motivated every day by those around her.

"My teammates motivate me," she said.  "I want to be good for them and the program. They motivate me to be better."

"I go in and work hard every day and leave a legacy for them," she continued.  "You want to be the best person for your teammates and the coaching staff. It's about making Indiana volleyball a winning program. You have to do your job and leave a good impact on your teammates and be there and care for your teammates."
