UCLA Earns Top Seed for Pac-12 Championship

SAN FRANCISCO -- UCLA (31-3), the nation's top-ranked team, was tabbed the No. 1 seed in the third-annual Pac-12 Beach Volleyball Championship to be held Thursday-Saturday, April 26-28 on the campus of Stanford University. Seedings were determined by a ranking of the league's coaches.

The Bruins earned the top seed in the championship for the first time, claiming the second seed in each of the first two years of the event. The Bruins will open the tournament on Thursday, April 26 at 3:00 pm. PT against the winner of No. 8 Utah (4-10) and No. 9 Oregon (2-8). The dual match between the Utes and the Ducks is on Thursday, April 26 at 8:00 a.m. PT.

Two-time defending Pac-12 and NCAA Champion USC (22-10) is the No. 2 seed while California (21-6) is third. Host Stanford (16-11) is the No. 4 seed while Arizona (19-10) is seeded fifth.

Washington (12-11) and Arizona State (10-18) is seeded sixth and seventh, respectively.

The Pac-12 Beach Volleyball Championship will be played at the Stanford Beach Volleyball Stadium. Play begins on Thursday and Friday at 8 a.m. PT with the last dual of the day slated for 4:45 p.m. PT on both days. Saturday action begins at 9 a.m. PT with the champion being crowned at 3 p.m. PT.

All three days of the championship will be televised on Pac-12 Network and Pac-12 Bay Area with Anne Marie Anderson and Holly McPeak calling the morning action, and Kevin Barnett and Mike Dodd in the afternoon.
