Beach Volleyball Preview: CCSA Championships

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW heads to Emerson, Ga., this week for the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association Beach Volleyball championship tournament.

The Seahawks (8-13) open their tournament appearance with two matches on Friday. UNCW plays LSU (25-5) and TCU (16-14) at 9 a.m. and noon, respectively, at the LakePoint Complex.

UNCW topped TCU early this season, 3-2, at the Islander Beach Classic in Corpus Christi, Texas, but has not played fourth-ranked LSU.

The pairing of sophomores Brynn Montgomery and Raquel Rooney has fashioned a record of 10-10 this season to lead the Seahawks. The duo compiled a 3-1 mark last weekend at the Palmetto Beach Classic in Columbia, S.C. One of the wins came against #11 South Carolina in a 3-2 loss to the Gamecocks.
