***UPDATE***8/8/2015 got the PSU and proceeded to put this thing together. It all went smoothly as far as locating all the pins and fan connections put a FX-8350 in w/R9 280 DualX single card running on two sticks of RAM at the moment 2X4gb Corsair Vengence 1866. First power up didn't go so well as I had the CPU_LED glowing; lo and behold, like a big dummy had bent several of the pins on the CPU unknowingly. The CPU 'felt' like it went in smoothly (have done several so not my first rodeo) when taking the heatsink off the CPU was stuck to the bottom...good grief. After adjusting the pins back in alignment noticed that when throwing the socket lever (looks like a minature paper cutter) back to accept the CPU it just didn't look and feel like it was opening all the way. After opening and closing each time opening a little more forceful I was able to get a good fit on lock down....'shewwy. I was seriously thinking about sending it back never had that issue with a socket before. Hadda FX-6120 laying around and was going to throw it on the test drive and come to find out it doesn't support that particular model 6100 yes 6120 no. So got the 8350 a few days later put it in and now I had a BIOS Device_LED staying lit with no P.O.S.T.. Knowing I had all the connections right and tight googled around and had all sorts of 'guesses' like turn the EPU and TPU off but no one knew just exactly where that was and besides couldn't POST so BIOS settings were out of the question. Called Asus and the rep was of the impression I had the wrong RAM cards, come to find out any ole RAM won't cut it. The manual has a list and it doesn't deviate from it; if it ain't on the list it won't work period as per Asus. Luckily my Corsair Vengence CMZ8GX3M2AX1866C9 XMP made the cut, after finding out it was on the list the rep was at a loss as to why it wouldn't boot and the BIOS_LED staying lit and advised an RMA. Come to find out the bootable drives I had where the culprit. I just reformatted one and did a clean install and bingo back in business. Seems the mobo has to have its own MBR. It defaults into UEFI mode and the two OS drives I had had that but it didn't play nice with Asus. So after the clean install (W7x64HmPrem) it would POST and boot to BIOS but it started flickering. Called Asus again and the person thought the R9 280 was 'too new' and asked if I had any old cards well guess what found an old HD 7570 and sure enough it POSTed and booted to BIOS. Used that card til I was able to get the AMD 15.7.1 update in then changed cards and downloaded the drivers. I gotta HAF 912 Cooler Master (plenty of room there) case with no DVD/CD combo, so I installed the Asus DVD folders/drivers etc. on an external HDD and used that to put all the drivers and what not in. That part went smooth, Asus does have good choices as far as that goes. The BIOS version came as 2501 and that is the latest greatest as of 4/2014. The utilities Asus has included just about cover anything you may need with a built in program to always get the latest they offer with just a few clicks. Handy as an extra pocket. The mobo itself stays as cool as a cucumber the built in temp probes let you know what it's seeing several different ways one is the Aii suite that gives you temps and voltages just a click away. All and all this mobo has some very nice features and OCers will be in hog heaven; me I'm happy crusing along at 4.2gHz and RAM set at XMP. I tried ramping it up a tad and it started getting unstable so I just set it in Turbo mode and it settled back down. To be honest it has way more features in the BIOS than I am truly comfortable tinkering with. The F1 BIOS help isn't very much help in my book as it lists acronyms as 'enable/disable' without telling you what the heck it means and I'm seeing things I've never seen before. Troubleshooting? forgetaboutit the manual is no help, Asus reps seem to be guessing too, seems like they were stumped fairly easy.
The board itself looks very rugged and well built with more features than you can shake a stick at and when it works its something to behold. I amazed at how cool everything runs even under BF4 loads and am sure the case doesn't hurt in that department either with all the room and air flow. In the end I would have to say for the money and what you get for it this is one of the better buys out there. Once you get it up and running keeping it in ship shape is extremely easy with all the included programs to keep it updated and tuned up. Like I said earlier Gigabyte makes a fine product too and this one in my book is right there neck and neck. Highly Recommend.

Update to my previous review above. 3/1/14
I have received my new board I ordered not a replacement from Amazon or Asus since Amazon accepted my defective board back with a full refund. My new board had me sweating bullets after the installation as the system at first booted up fine. Then after running a short time started running unstable. Periodic crashes, freezes, etc. All the components seemed to be fine at the time. As all are brand new with the exception of my Graphics cards. They are not even a yr old yet but still the only thing not brand new to my build. The more I ran the system the more unstable it seemed to get & I was ripping my hair out trying to figure out what was wrong. Started running system tests on everything I could think of & as it turned out it was bad Ram sticks I had purchased causing the problems. I had just bought brand new GSKILL ram for my new system build so had no idea the ram was or would be defective but it was. After running windows memory tests on full test sequence not just the basic test it determined the ram was defective. I removed the new ram & installed some older slower Corsair Ram I had in my previous build & my system issues stopped completely. I have returned my GSKILL ram to the manufacturer & have gotten replacement sticks to put in my system. With the good ram my system is completely stable atm running flawlessly. Here is my new system build info:

I have not had a chance to install my new replacement G-Skill ram yet but hopefully I have a good working set of ram now. So far I am happy with the new Motherboard & its performance. At this time due to RL situations I haven't had much time to work with my new system since the MB replacement but I'm looking forward to many yrs of great performance, gaming & computing. If any issues arise with this motherboard I will update my post to inform everyone interested. This seems to be a great board when you can find & get a good woring one. As we all know with all electronics there are going to be some bad ones that get out with the good product line so there are going to be defects in the stores from time to time. That is inevitable. Its just a matter of the companies QC practices & how stringent they are with the practices they have implimented. Reviews are hard to base a judgement on too as you never know the knowledge lvl of the user / reviewer but I will say even though I'm not a professional certified technitian I have been building & working on computers for over 20 yrs & feel I am pretty knowledgable & proficient. I do build, & repair my own systems & have done so for family & friends for the same amount of time. I try to be honest & bias in my reviews & base them on actual product descriptions & quality not on my frustration with a instance or emotional dealings with a person or company unless it pertains to the product & issue resolutions if an issue of problems or defects arise.
