This motherboard is a great budget board..... You have the highest end chipset of the 4th generation and a good amount of bells and whistles. CLICK BIOS 4 was a little hard to nav through, but very nice bios. The integrated sound card will do you well, as you can hook up a 7.1 system which is awesome! MSI Live Update 6 definitely helps you install ALL of the drivers you need, so download that first thing. Creative Sound Blaster Cinema is simply amazing as 3D Surround works well, bass boost is very clean, and crystallizer makes everything sound awesome. MSI Command Center lets you OC, control fans, and much more. Now to installing everything on it. I had no problems EXCEPT getting the USB 3.0 header in. Its a little bit of a tight fit and it came loose only once, but other than that, absolutely no problems. Great motherboard for budget builds. This is my total build, which is about $830

I started building as soon as this arrived and everything went very smoothly. The UEFI/bios was nice to go through. I'll probably upgrade to a dedicated sound card. The integrated sound isn't bad, but lacks features. I don't mind the lack of SLI. One card is enough. I installed it in the Cooler Master HAF X with an i5-4670K, GeForce GTX 660 Ti, 8GB Corsair Vengeance LP 1866 and Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo in push/pull configuration. There was plenty of fan headers. I only connected the side panel GPU fan to the PSU. I haven't tried to overclock yet.

I bought this motherboard with an Intel G3420 for a family member's work machine after seeing that it was compatible with the listed processor. Upon first build the computer would boot for about 3 seconds and then restart. I tried using known good RAM, a new PSU, a new processor, and even took the motherboard out of the box to make sure there wasn't a short, yet nothing worked.
I figure I just had a bad luck-of-the-draw board; so I ordered another one. This time instead of it restarting on an endless loop, there just wasn't any output (the video didn't work and there was no power to the USB.) Thinking that this was impossible to get two dead motherboards, I decided to put everything together on a known good motherboard, and viola, the computer ran flawlessly. So either someone who works for MSI didn't know what they were doing when they listed that this motherboard worked with this specific processor, or I happened to get 2 terrible boards; either way this has left a bad taste in my mouth and I will be purchasing from another manufacturer, which is sad considering I have built four PCs with MSI boards in the past 8 months.

Seems cheap, not all that impressed with the quality, but hey it works.

I am sure this would be a good motherboard if it would work reliably. Regardless of what bios settings I chose it puts the lan card into a deep sleep mode, thus preventing any access to the Internet.
I had to manually update all drivers and multiple manual flashes and nada. Very frustrating.
It does boot nice and fast though, so it isn't all bad

I built a new PC about 2 months ago and have been running it since. It works great. I have an Intel core i7-4770K CPU, 16 GB of DDR3 1600 memory (Crucial Ballistix Sport), 3 x 1 TB hard drives in a RAID 5 configuration, a 64 GB SSD configured as a cache for the RAID disk (the RAID and SSD cache are all features built into the motherboard, and work great). I am using the on-board graphics capabilities, no graphics card plugged into the PCI-e 3.0 x 16 slot. The built in graphics "card" is more than adequate for my applications (keep in mind that the CPU is also the GPU and a different CPU/GPU will give different results).

I have not tried to overclock the CPU or memory. I am using the retail box fan and it seems more than adequate for my setup. I might need to upgrade the cooling system if I were to overclock the CPU. I am running around 45 C for the CPU temperature on average.

The UEFI (formerly BIOS) interface is graphical and fairly easy to navigate.

The built in network interface works fine. Everything I have tried works as advertised with the possible exception of adding more disks to my RAID setup, I haven't figured out how to do that.

I like that it has 6 SATA III (6 Gb/s) connectors. Their location and orientation could have been more convenient but it's not any worse than any other MoBo I have experience with. I may not be typical, but 6 SATA connections is not enough for me. So I added a PCI card, problem solved.

I have a PCI TV tuner card and a Blu-Ray disk. I use the PC as a HTPC in addition to more serious duty. I have connected my HDTV to the graphics output via the HDMI port. This works much better than my previous PC which also used an HDMI port for graphics. However, the multi-display (up to 3 displays) feature will not work well with an HTPC setup, because of HDCP restrictions. If you try to play protected content and have any displays connected to the other ports (VGA or DVI) even though you are using the HDMI port to play the content it will be prevented from playing until you disconnect the non-HDCP compliant devices!

I have had virtually no problems with my new PC and I believe that the motherboard deserves a healthy share of the credit for that.
