Moscode Super-IT Tube Phono with Upgrades

Up for sale is this highly regarded and upgraded Moscode Super-IT Phono Stage (made by New York Audio Labs) which is barely broken in with about 200 hours on new capacitors. This phono stage is not nearly as large as some full-size units, measuring only 3.5”H x 9”W x 5”D, and has a separate power supply shown in the photos.

This sought after phono stage offers volume and balance adjustments, handles MM and MC Phono Cartridges with load adjustments for them (see the pictures), and will give you some of the best tube sound available (and is in better cosmetic condition than any Moscode Super ITs I’ve seen to date). Included are three new 12AX7 tubes.

UPGRADES: Leaving the basic superior circuitry design the same (although the original capacitors were of mediocre grade and prone to fail as they were usually undervalued for the amount of current going through them), Steve Sank of Talking Dog Transducer Co in Tucson (one of the country’s leading Moscode experts with over 35 years of electronics experience who has made over hundreds of Moscode mods) improved the sound and reliability over the original Moscode Super IT by replacing all of the electrolytic caps and installing higher-value much better sounding audiophile grade Nichicon electrolytics, and two pair of award winning Audiocap PPT Theta film capacitors replaced some inferior lower-value film caps in the critical signal path. Sank also replaced the old tin RCA connectors, with some new gold plated ones. This results in a very natural and musical presentation that is non-fatiguing and easier on the ears for more extended listening sessions.

As Steve Sank will tell you, the Moscode Super-IT when modified properly is one of the best sounding phono stages ever made--and it has indeed been upgraded to a higher level of sound quality and basically made ultra-reliable with brand new higher quality electrolytics throughout.

The many loading options combined with the variable volume control will allow this Super IT to handle almost ANY cartridge out there, from low-output Moving Coils to high-output MM cartridges. It can supply up to 72 dB of gain and can also drive most basic power amps directly if phono is your only source component. All loading DIP switches are on the rear panel for easy access and the Volume and Balance controls are on the front panel.
