In the 1950s Oldsmobile was often the GM division that tried the latest innovations with the 98 model representing the top of the Oldsmobile line. “Take command of the road,” Oldsmobile buyers were urged, and this commanding 1941 Series 98 Custom Cruiser rides on a 125 in wheelbase, powered by the premium side valve 257 cu-in straight-eight delivering 110 hp. Designer Edmund Anderson gave the 1941 Oldsmobiles updated Art Deco flair, and this one is finished in Sapphire Blue Metallic paint with two tone red leather and tan cloth interior and the tried-and-true column-shift three-speed manual. The tan convertible top operates with another Oldsmobile innovation, vacuum-operated power controls. Its restoration was said to have cost more than $145,000, all major components are numbers-matching, and it has been stored in a climate-controlled air-conditioned space.
