Design and features:This portable earbud model doesn't have active noise reduction, but their earplug-like design helps to reduce both outside noise and sound leaking out into your environment. The earphones have medium-high sensitivity, so they can provide satisfying volume levels when used with home audio equipment and even lower-powered portable audio devices. This model comes with three pairs of earpieces in various sizes.
Sound quality: We found the RP-HJE120 delivers good overall sound with a warm character. The pronounced one-note bass has good impact but only so-so definition, and deep bass is lacking. Midrange is slightly muffled, and treble sounds a bit dry and spitty, with a rolled-off upper treble. Overall sound is somewhat closed in, with compressed dynamics. This model and the Panasonic RP-HJC120 have the same sound character.
Comfort: We found that these earphones fit and stay in place with no problems; the fit is more like an in-ear earphone than an earbud, so the sense of pressure in the ear opening might be uncomfortable for some.
