I just purchased the Grasshopper 226V mower I plan to install this in. This particular filter is specified by the factory to preserve the warranty. As far as I can tell, from what I can see, it is well made and specifically designed for Grasshopper Hydro-Max Transmissions. I plan to cut open the old filter and have a look at its guts when I get around to maintenance on the transmission and I will have a better idea about this filter. I felt the price was reasonable for a filter that is so important and for one for which there is no published substitution. If I find anything of significance, I will add to this review.
