Default indigo blue metallic color

anyone here have an indigo blue metallic F-type? i am looking at a used 2014 and it doesn't appear to be a stock color that year (It is not the dark sapphire blue). i searched online and some pictures show it as blue while others have a much more distinct purple hue to it. pics of your car in this color would be helpful.

It was an optional color, but I don’t know if I’ve ever seen one. Here’s the initial version of the 2014 brochure, which lists and shows it, though it won’t help you much. It’s listed as an Xirallic metallic paint.

Interestingly, what looks like an identical paint sample for the 2014 v2 brochure is labeled ‘dark sapphire’. Perhaps someone else can confirm if they’re the same.

There was an Indigo for sale at an Audi dealer here last year. Pretty color but this one had a red roof, didn't work!

It's like those Porsches with blue interiors. Not sure why you would do it unless you're either keeping for 5+ years or don't care about resale value!

Agreed, but there are people that really like the bright colored interiors. I am quite happy with Indigo with Cirrus Interior, but I do like the red interior in a black or dark grey exterior. Different strokes...

Exact same interior colour scheme as my car (albeit the steering wheel is on the other side).
Goes great with my Lunar Grey paint and I wouldn't swap for any other colour and definitely not the boring and common as muck black.

Striking for sure!

You asked about a purple hue. The Indigo can give off a purple tinge at some sunlight angles. It looks deep blue in most lights as is shown in the picture I posted. The Xirallic paint has metal flakes of various colors which give a different look depending on sun angles. Nothing the the Chameleon flip flip paint, but subtle differences. I have read that Jag eliminated the Xirallic in later years (2016?) but kept the basic colors. I have also read that Sapphire is the same color as Indigo, but again, no personal experience. The Jag paint codes for the two blues are different so I question if that one is true. In my (biased) opinion the Indigo is one of the more desirable colors. Also like the darker grays and the BRG. My wife favors the Indigo over all others so that's what's in the garage. It does show dust and scratches more that lighter colors or the grays colors. I imagine the Xirallic could be difficult to match if the car were to be damaged.

Should not be a problem.
My old XFR was Kyanite Blue, a xirallic colour and utterly beautiful.
After a little scrape I had the rear bumper repainted by a mobile paint repair bloke and he had no trouble at all perfectly matching the colour, including the special metallic multi-coloured flake.

Default Indigo

Good to hear on the paint match!

Here's another picture in partial shade, which shows the color shift. Very subtle...

My old XKR was Kyanite Blue and when I had the front splitter replaced the paint repair bloke also had no trouble getting a perfect match. You're right, too, it was utterly beautiful - I kinda miss it.
