Intimate Wedding at Herb and Wood, San Diego, CA | Marcail and Luis

Marcail and Luis didn’t want to get lost in the planning of a wedding, so about a month before New Years, they decided to see what they could make happen quickly! They should probably write a book about wedding planning, because they put together the most magical day.

First of all, Marcail came to slay in a low back. FLORAL SEQUINED Mac Duggal Dress. A New Years Eve Wedding is always a good excuse to add extra sparkle to your day and I could not be more obsessed with Marcail’s dress. A bouquet of neutrals with pops of pinks by AHR Florals paired with it flawlessly. Luis ALSO came to slay in a blue, windowpane plaid suit. I live for patterns on patterns and these two own the game.

We met in Balboa Park with family and friends at the Alacazar Garden for a dreamy, intimate ceremony. AHR added some magic to the already gorgeous spot with some dried pampas. Luis’s sister officiated the ceremony with lots of laughs, tears and appreciation of love.

After the ceremony, everyone headed to Little Italy for a brunch reception at Herb and Wood. Herb and Wood is a STUNNING space and owned by Brian Malarky of Top Chef fame! They added some charming nods to Luis’s Mexican heritage with their decorations, including a custom papel picado banner and the sweetest little piñata cake topper. Guests worked on a mimosa bar and treats while we took portraits and then the feast began. I think I have a crush on the way that Marcail and Luis eat. Food just kept coming out and every dish looked better than the last. Chef Malarky really outdid himself.

The whole day was a dream. It was the most perfect, intimate celebration and the best way to head into the new year. To have put together such a perfect day is a feat and Marcail and Luis knocked it out of the park. Thank you two for trusting me with such a magical day!

Marcail and Luis had the cutest picnic in Balboa Park’s Cactus Garden for their engagement photos! You can check it out HERE!
