After Friday's final showdowns, Alexander Volkanovski and Yair Rodriguez have nothing left to do but enter the octagon and fight.

Volkanovski and Rodriguez will headline Saturday's UFC 290 event at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Their bout is the second of two title fights following the flyweight championship co-main event between Brandon Moreno and Alexandre Pantoja.

The 145-pound champion and interim champion faced off one last time at Friday's weigh-in ceremony before talking to Joe Rogan. As they've done all week, the two men kept things very respectful, but the champion promises that a switch will be flicked when the cage door closes.

"It's been very respectful [on both sides]," Volkanovski told Rogan. "I gave him respect, saying he's dangerous, but that all stops tomorrow. Tomorrow I'm going out there, I'm going to crush him. And again, baby. Let's go."

"Thanks to the Mexican fans," Rodriguez said. "We're not only helping to build the sport together, but we're helping to change lives here. I have nothing to say about my opponent, everyone knows he's fuc.. great, and we're going to do a fuc... great job tomorrow night. So just wait for it. Thanks, [Alexander]again."

Co-headliners Moreno and Pantoja have a history, with the challenger holding two dominant victories over the champion.

Years later, neither fighter remembers the past encounter; instead, it's all about Saturday night, with UFC gold on the line.

"My family and I have sacrificed a lot for this moment," Pantoja said. "Now it's time to enjoy, to make the best fight for everyone. I know it's going to be a war.

"I'm not even thinking about the past," said Moreno. "I'm focused again on a long, incredible night for the Mexican fans, for all my people. Long live Mexico.
