Multiple Tabloids Are Claiming Prince William & Rose Hanbury’s Alleged Affair Is Far From Over

It seems as though the Prince William and Rose Hanbury affair scandal is back in the spotlight, with some outlets claiming it’s far from over (but we’re going to break down everything).

Spanish tabloid site Marca.com and Polish site essanews.com have resurfaced the alleged affair between Hanbury and William. While Marca alleged this could happen, essanews reiterated the story of Hanbury allegedly becoming the “new Camilla” (referring to how King Charles cheated on Princess Diana with Queen Camilla, and later married her).

Marca wrote: “Prince William is making the same mistakes his father made back in the day. The rumors suggest Prince William has been in love with Rose (who is married) for many years but he ultimately decided to marry Kate Middleton. Just like his father was in love with Camilla Parker Bowles, who was also married at the time. If all these rumors turn out to be true, this means Kate Middleton is playing a role very similar to Princess Diana.”

So, for those who don’t know this whole situation as well as others, we’re going to break down everything (because, boy, this story has a lot of misinformation).

Hanbury and Kate were friends for years, and in 2019, the Sun published a piece saying the two had a falling out (which according to Richard Kay, nearly left both getting legal action in response). Then, writers Giles Coren and Nicole Cliffe both claimed they knew about the alleged affair between William and Hanbury in 2019, per IBTimes.

Restaurant critic Coren tweeted about the affair, and quickly deleted the tweet, which he then followed up with an apology. As for Cliffe, her posts about the alleged affair were more on a personal take sort of level, per IBTimes.

William’s lawyers reportedly issued a legal warning, but no one in this story has publicly acknowledged the rumors. And an insider from the royal family told The Daily Beast: “There has never been any enmity between Kate and Rose. The rumors were all a load of rubbish. The family are ancient allies of the Crown and they will be there.”
