Order of Operations Flip Chart- PEMDAS

This is a flip chart that shows a very old lady on the front. I tell my students a story about "my" Aunt, how she was so old, walked around with a cane and one day while we were out for dinner she let out a big fart. I then emphasize how we had to tell the customers, "Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally," and then we had to tell the owners, "Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally," and on and on. Following the story I have them make this flip chart to go along with it. It is a great way to teach the concept and help the kids remember, especially for special education students. This lesson reaches both the auditory and visual learners. You can even get into the kinesthetic learners by having the students act it out. There are many different directions you can go in.
