Supplied new to Lex Leasing who owned the car for three years, it was then sold to Mrs A Buckley who kept the car until 1989, while in her custody the car was chauffeur driven and we have a letter on file from Mrs Buckley stating this. The history file contains bills, invoices and old MOT's which help to back up the mileage of 67,000. Between 1990/91 the Jaguar was subject to a major restoration which is recorded with photographs that are still present, this was carried out at 56,000 miles. In 2004 at 65,000 miles the car was fitted with an unleaded cylinder head, the carburettors were rebuilt and the cooling system overhauled. In 2005 at 65500 miles the brakes and suspension were overhauled and then the car was placed in storage in 2008. In 2017 the Big Cat was awoken at 67,000 miles and recommissioned, this included a new fuel tank, electronic distributor, sports coil, new automatic choke unit, coolant pipe set and new brake pads, this work was carried out by Norman Motors Ltd, Jaguar Specialists in London and a copy of their invoice is in the history file. The car today is still in lovely condition as shown in the photographs and on test drive the car performed without fault. The Jaguar is now tax and mot exempt although a fresh MOT will be applied upon sale. XJ Coupes are now becoming very collectable and this is a car that would grace any showground or collection.
