Product Manager, Google Home Automation

Minimum qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
  • 2 years of experience developing or launching products or technologies within security, privacy, or a related area.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of software development principles.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and AI concepts.

In this role, you will work cross-functionally to guide products from conception to launch by connecting the technical and business worlds. You can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development.

Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

Our mission is to evolve Google Home's automation capabilities as a feature within the Google Home App and as a powerful platform enabling seamless, personalized automation experiences for both Google and third-party partners.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a multi-year product strategy for Google's automation platform, shaping the future of how users interact with and automate their smart homes.
  • Drive the development of automation APIs that empower first-party and third-party partners to create innovative automation experiences.
  • Advocate for both a developer and user-centric approach, incorporating user research and feedback to inform the development of intuitive and delightful automation features.
  • Partner with analytics teams to establish key performance indicators (KPIs), measure success, and drive data-driven improvements to the platform.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure successful integration and adoption of Google's automation platform. Work closely with engineering, design, product planning, marketing, and business development teams to bring the automation platform to life.
