Revenue Accountant (English, Spanish)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in accounting, business, or finance.
  • Experience with IFRS, US GAAP or Mexican FRS, with a focus on revenue recognition.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Spanish fluently to engage with local stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), MBA, or MSA.
  • Experience with processes, controls, and financial reporting.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional, and fast-paced environment and to drive complex operational initiatives.
  • Excellent problem solving skills, combined with excellent business acumen.

About the job

Google accountants are a savvy bunch who handle the core accounting responsibilities at Google. You know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. You have a strong knowledge of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), as well as experience in researching issues and documenting conclusions. Other responsibilities include reconciling balance sheets and P&L accounts, and providing supplementary financial information for internal and external reports.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver accurate, timely, and efficient accounting processes including preparation of month-end close activities as related to device business generation, deferred business generation, reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, etc.
  • Partner with the Systems team and other upstream stakeholders to stabilize new processes related to Order to Cash SAP transformation and ensure SOX compliance, operational excellence, and scalability, where applicable.
  • Partner closely across finance (e.g., Product Controllership, Financial Planning and Analysis, FinOps, cross-product area, etc.) as well as the business (e.g., Product, Sales, etc.) to support new or ongoing business initiatives, improve process efficiencies/scalability for continued operational excellence.
  • Support internal and external year-end audits and provide insights to drive effective management decisions and ensure compliance.
