Privacy Engineer II, Marketing

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience in applying technologies and processes to mitigate risks (e.g., business, regulatory, etc.) using established frameworks such as Privacy By Design.
  • 1 year of experience driving decisions that maintain the privacy posture of an organization by analyzing and assessing proposed solutions (e.g., product features, infrastructure systems, etc.), and influencing stakeholders.
  • 1 year of experience in Privacy, Security, or Compliance domain.

Preferred qualifications:

  • CIPP-US or CIPT/CIPM certifications.
  • Experience in Marketing, Advertising, and Analytics roles.
  • Ability to collaborate professionally and effectively with cross-functional technical and business teams is critical.
  • Ability to create process documentation and guidelines for users.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.

About the job

The Marketing Privacy team is part of the Marketing Technology and Engineering organization, whose overarching mission is to provide tools, technical stewardship, and governance across global Marketing. The Marketing Privacy team provides consultation, guidance, tools, and processes that enable Marketers to execute campaigns and activities in compliance with Google’s user privacy and regulatory commitments. Privacy engineers on our team identify, communicate, and mitigate privacy risk in collaboration with stakeholders across the Marketing organization.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $114,000-$168,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct privacy reviews and provide consultation requests from Marketers seeking privacy guidance related to their campaigns.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to design and implement privacy-protective solutions.
  • Identify and flag privacy reviews that are more complex or pose higher privacy risk to executive privacy engineers.
  • Participate in privacy team projects, with support and guidance of a executive privacy engineer or other team members.
