Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of product operations management experience working across organizations.
  • 15 years of experience managing technical projects in the software engineering domain.
  • 5 years of experience leading teams within technical program management or equivalent roles.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Understanding of the complex relationship between the organization and its environment, identifies connections, adopts different perspectives, and quickly responds to changing circumstances in a strategic way.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills that drive executional impact at scale.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Collaborates effectively across organizational boundaries, builds relationships, and imports and exports talent and ideas to achieve a broader organizational goal.
  • Demonstrates comfort with changing specifications or standards, and creates the conditions in which the team feels comfortable and capable of working through in response to ambiguity.

As part of the Google Cloud Infrastructure and Solutions Group (ISG) team you will unleash your leadership skills and your significant talents for program management, mobilizing cross-functional teams, delivering solutions for scale and data-driven decision making, to launch and take to market solutions that accelerate our customers' success in the cloud. You will inspire our teams and rapidly establish trust amongst a diverse set of stakeholders and customers.

As a Director of Technical Program Management (TPM) you will focus on the software services we build on the Google Cloud Platform. Opportunities span across domain specialties including Cloud Storage, Networking, Distributed Cloud, Geo Expansion, Reliability/SRE, Kubernetes, and Serverless. In this role, you will set the vision and direction, improving productivity, quality standards, resolving systemic problems, identifying trends and implementing change.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $253,000-$363,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Set vision and execution of organizational direction for broad, cross-organization projects across the Google Cloud including Geo Expansion, with additional initiatives that are deep in infrastructure.  
  • Partner closely with senior leadership in engineering and product managers to ensure TpM alignment with business and organization priorities. Forecast resourcing requirements for TpM, while driving sublinear scaling at a rapid pace.
  • Lead and inspire an organization of technical program managers drawn from several parts of the business, with a goal of driving alignment amongst software engineering and partner organizations spanning Cloud.
  • Build a healthy, scalable and growth-oriented TPM organization across multiple locations.
  • Lead other TPM groups to streamline processes, simplify execution, manage OKRs, release on time, bring tooling efficiencies, and help teams in execution.
