About the job

Google Compute Engine (GCE) is a cloud computing platform that empowers its users with a comprehensive suite of Virtual Machines and Baremetal instances for General-Purpose Compute, Compute-Optimized, Memory-Optimized, Storage-Optimized and GPU/TPU-Accelerated Workloads. GCE is one of Google Cloud Platform's (GCP) core services, and it is used by businesses of all sizes, from startups to enterprises running AI/ML, Cloud Native and Mission Critical Enterprise services.

We operate and maintain the infrastructure that provides public cloud infrastructure for customers to scale their operations.

As a Principal Engineer you will play a pivotal role in ensuring GCE instances continue to meet the rapidly evolving demands of both Enterprise and AI/ML customers. The exponential growth in the scale of clusters used by AI/ML applications, coupled with the generational advancements in GPU and TPU accelerators, necessitates meeting goodput requirements for these workloads consistently. Simultaneously, the increasing memory demands of Memory-Optimized applications and the need for high-performance local SSDs for Storage-Optimized applications are driving the need for constant innovation in the GCE instance portfolio. While meeting the expectations of both AI/ML and Enterprise workloads around disruptions is table stakes, you will drive technical innovation to push the boundaries of performance and reliability, ensuring our customers have a seamless and exceptional experience with their most demanding workloads. This is an opportunity to shape the future of cloud computing by directly impacting the reliability, scalability, and performance of Google Cloud Platform's core compute offerings.

Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry.
