Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in public accounting or at a technology company.
  • 2 years of experience with US GAAP.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with SQL and growing business decisions by analyzing data sets.
  • Experience in managing process improvement.
  • Excellent business acumen, with the ability to recognize and present data.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work with minimal guidance and in a team environment.

You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. This Controllership team partners with FP&A, Product, Engineering, and Business Development teams through design and implementation of products across Platforms and Ecosystems businesses. In this role, you will build accounting processes to support the cultivation of our core business growth-generating areas.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $81,000-$119,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage global processes for the accounting of Android and Chrome, including business growth and incentives, cost of sales, operational expenses, and the related balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Partner with FP&A, Product, Engineering, and other cross-functional business partners to define, establish, and implement accounting systems, processes, and procedures. Review processes and implement controls to ensure mitigated risk for Google.
  • Perform month-end close processes, including agreement review and preparing/posting journal entries. Prepare and present financials to management and support with any ad-hoc requests from cross-functional teams.
  • Identify opportunities and implement programs to centralize, eliminate, automate, or send out activities. Work with providers to send out established or mature processes and manage ongoing activities.
  • Work through accounting implications and operationally support business agreements. Provide accounting guidance to Sales, Product, and other cross-functional teams.
