Product Operations Senior Principal, Workspace Platform

  • Experience in an operations role at a Cloud or Business-to-Business tech company.

Preferred qualifications:

Product and Business Strategy Leaders bring together teams across Google’s functions to help products execute optimally. Our team pushes Google to scale at key points that refine our products and infrastructure by executing efficiently, bringing solid business sense and sound judgment, and working effectively across organizational lines.

Our roles often include components of strategy (e.g. analyzing and understanding new trends in the industry, building business plans), operations (e.g. running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications. Our team partners with senior leadership to run important functions that cross-cut our existing organizations and deliver high impact projects. We help Engineers, PMs, UX, and all of our other functions to build amazing products that delight our users, and then get those products into their hands.

Workspace's suite of products includes Gmail, Chat, Meet, Drive, Calendar, Editors (Docs, Sheets and Slides), Forms, Sites and Keep serving users (consumer and business) globally, and Security and Management products for our customers in Small and Medium Businesses and Enterprise.

The Workspace Platform team leads business growth, privacy, security and compliance, third-party ecosystem, and search in Workspace. In this role, you will work closely with the Workspace Platform VP of Product and VP of Engineering to lead product operations for Workspace Platform, including annual planning, operational expenditures budget management, OKR processes, product and launch reviews, and cross-Product Area Quarterly Business Reviews. You will also run internal communications to ensure that the cross-functional Workspace Platform team of engineers, product managers, UX, data scientists understand and are excited about the strategy and priorities.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $208,000-$296,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Run annual, quarterly and weekly processes, such as planning and product reviews, that enable feedback and decisions. Enable the team to deliver business results and high quality products for users.
  • Improve operational processes such as launch reviews and planning by working with cross-functional leaders to understand issues and implement changes. Manage headcount and operational expenditures resources for the organization.
  • Drive leadership meetings and summits to share priorities, build strategies and strengthen team culture. Partner with leads to craft agendas that will shape our products, priorities and teams.
  • Ensure priorities and processes are communicated effectively and consistently to the broader organization, including cross-functional groups. Work with other teams to ensure the organization's plans are aligned with its goals and objectives.
