Global Supply Chain Manager, Camera

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain and Operations Management, Finance, or Business or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in Global Supply Chain Management.
  • 7 years of experience in cost engaging technologies, processes and products to guide and influence product development and decisions.
  • 3 years of experience managing category strategies and sourcing teams across multiple categories for goods and services in the indirect category space.
  • 3 years of experience in Commodity Management, Sourcing or Supply Chain Management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA, Master's degree, or related Advanced degree.
  • 7 years of experience in Commodity Management, Camera Sourcing or Supply Chain Management.
  • Experience with sourcing and procurement for camera or camera components.
  • Ability to create or optimize cost models for evaluating modules, components, new processes.
  • Excellent communication, people management, sourcing, and collaboration skills.

The Supplier Sourcing team gets things done for Google, from tasks like buying hardware, software and professional services to managing facilities and various technology services globally. Through the strong and unique relationships we have with internal stakeholders and the right vendors, our team ensures that Google gets the best value for our purchases. As a member of a larger team, you drive a number of procurement-related activities such as guiding vendors through our shifting needs and supplying internal clients with sound purchasing advice. You craft and lead a multi-step sourcing process and innovative e-auctions to finalize high-dollar, high-risk proposals and contract negotiations. In some cases, you secure competitive rates for Google by translating our business needs into familiar "commodity" terms for the marketplace.

As a Supplier Sourcing Manager, you produce, implement and manage sourcing strategies, conducting solicitations for and executing against high-dollar, high-risk and complex procurements. You oversee competitive bidding and sourcing events from start to finish, conduct market benchmarking analysis, track the latest market developments, and develop metrics to manage supplier performance. You understand Google's key purchasing requirements, including how our sourcing strategy aligns with broader business strategies in order to develop and support supplier portfolios and undertake supplier negotiations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies for Consumer Hardware. Identify and implement new opportunities for Cost Savings and Cost Avoidance, including optimizing the supply base for Google’s Consumer Hardware needs.
  • Develop an understanding of cost engaged technologies, processes, and products to guide and influence product development decisions. Create cost models for new modules, components, and processes.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities and risks related to product design and business plans. Develop global sourcing strategies with defined plans for cost savings, risk assessment and mitigation, and supply planning agreements.
  • Address all areas of global sourcing and supply chain management including commodity business plans, supplier performance management, global market, building up a supply base that’s the right fit for Google, pricing analysis, agreements, procurement support.
  • Travel up to 35% of the time.
