Cost Program Manager, Data Center Equipment, Google Cloud

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in program or project management.
  • 2 years of experience in cost analytics, financial data analytics, or a related field.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with data center equipment or related technologies.
  • Experience with data analytics, data management, and data reporting.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and cost tracking tools.
  • Proficiency in data querying languages (SQL, Python) and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker Studio).
  • Proficiency in cloud-based data management tools such as G-sheets, Airtable, Quickbase, Smartsheets.

As a Cost Program Manager, Data Center Equipment, you will have the opportunity to lead and optimize the cost management lifecycle of data center equipment. This critical role will involve in-depth analysis of equipment spend and unit costs, driving data-driven decision-making, developing the necessary processes, workflows, reports, dashboards and controls to deliver visibility, control and governance in this space. In this role, you will develop and manage processes, tools, reports and mechanisms to deliver visibility, governance and efficiencies into our cost, spend, and budget lifecycles for data center equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain costs for all equipment supply chain products (electrical, mechanical, and integrated products) in our centralized cost database.
  • Partner within equipment supply chain and external teams to incorporate costs in supply planning, budget asks, and cost roadmaps to inform decision making.
  • Develop cost benchmarking/analytics to support discussions, justify cost changes, and ensure proper equipment funding. Analyze historical and real-time cost data to inform cost models and continuous improvements.
  • Lead process improvements for the tracking and reporting on savings and cost avoidance. Develop dashboards, reports and tools to provide visibility, governance, cost insights and controls to key internal stakeholders.
  • Act as the cost data steward, be responsible for enforcing data governance policies and standards to ensure quality, accuracy, and security of the data. Be responsible for creating, modifying, or deleting data accordingly.
