Technical Program Manager, Fitbit Health Platform

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science), or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in technical program or project management.
  • Experience working in programs in data domain and privacy.
  • Experience working in Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with software development and managing execution of programs that span multiple engineering teams.
  • Understanding of privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and their application to health data.
  • Understanding of technical implementation at the architecture level.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The Health Platform team empowers Fitbit users through cutting-edge infrastructure, seamless data migration, and robust privacy controls, while building a scalable, reliable health platform.

In this role, you will be part of a rapidly growing area within Google, building the infrastructure and privacy controls for next-generation features. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to accelerate innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver complex, mission-critical software projects across Fitbit and the wider organization, collaborating effectively with engineering, product, and technical program manager.
  • Drive alignment across teams/organization/product area to reach consensus on product direction, north-star metrics, engineering feasibility and provide support to teams balancing engaging priorities.
  • Monitor program progress, manage dependencies, assess risks, and communicate status to stakeholders and leadership, proactively addressing issues and escalations.
  • Foster efficient cross-functional collaboration by establishing and refining processes, tools, and documentation.
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge and thought leadership to run projects efficiently and to help the team scale.
