Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 15 years of experience in management consulting, product management and strategy, or analytics in a technology company.
- 5 years of experience with databases or data analytics within a Cloud- based environment.
- Experience working with and analyzing data, and managing multiple cross-functional programs or projects.
- Experience with SQL, R, Python, or other programming/scripting languages to manipulate datasets.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD.
- Experience working with product and engineering teams.
- Experience working in an enterprise setting, bringing both experience and a nuanced understanding of the Data Management market segment and competitive dynamics/customer adoption behavior.
- Experience informing product decisions through quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate with both technical and business experts.

Product and Business Strategy Leaders bring together teams across Google’s functions to help products execute optimally. Our team pushes Google to scale at key points that refine our products and infrastructure by executing efficiently, bringing solid business sense and sound judgment, and working effectively across organizational lines.
Our roles often include components of strategy (e.g. analyzing and understanding new trends in the industry, building business plans), operations (e.g. running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications. Our team partners with senior leadership to run important functions that cross-cut our existing organizations and deliver high impact projects. We help Engineers, PMs, UX, and all of our other functions to build amazing products that delight our users, and then get those products into their hands.
As an Analytics lead in Cloud Databases, you will apply analytical capabilities towards the most strategically important areas and topics across the databases business and create linkages with the overall databases strategy. You will work cross-functionally across the Databases organization and broader Google Cloud product areas as needed to shape the future of the Databases portfolio. You will serve as a leader on the Databases Strategy and Operations leadership team, a function which is responsible for crafting the strategic direction for Databases and ensuring the high quality execution of the strategy. You will be working with Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, Operations, UI, and Finance to make data driven product decisions. You will serve as a subject matter expert, trusted technical/analytical advisor across a wide range of issues to our stakeholders.

Responsibilities
- Work with large, complex data sets and develop solutions that can be executed for incremental business growth. Solve non-routine, inter-disciplinary analysis problems by applying advanced analytical methods as needed.
- Perform leadership consulting across the Databases organization to make data driven product decisions and find data driven product opportunities. Develop experimentation and measurement frameworks to increase the velocity of investments and aid complex decision-making.
- Identify important business problems, translate these to tractable questions, process data and perform analysis, and communicate the results to stakeholders to inform the product direction.
- Work closely with Engineering, Product, Operations, User Research, and Go-to-Market teams to identify opportunities for impactful analysis.
- Deliver well-documented datasets, tools, and reports to key technical and business partners. Integrate your findings and output into relevant business and product workstreams.
