About the job

At Google, we take a different approach to Procurement or Strategic Sourcing than most other organizations. We're a fast moving, innovative company and our Engineers are always looking for ways to change the world -- the Supplier Sourcing team helps make those changes happen. From buying hardware, software and professional services to managing facilities and technology services globally, our job is to work with suppliers to enable quick and scalable development of new products. We're looking for people who can easily navigate ambiguity, collaborate well across multiple teams and build strong relationships with stakeholders to get things done for Google. Since we believe competition is the best way to negotiate great deals with suppliers, you should also be comfortable using data to ensure robust decision making.

The Head of EMEA Regional Partnerships is a key member of the Business Partnership team. In this role, you will influence, design, and implement strategic roadmaps that deliver comprehensive value creation across the procurement lifecycle. The core objective is to drive value creation across the entire procurement lifecycle within the region. This goes beyond cost reduction and encompasses strategic alignment, demand planning, innovation, capability building, risk mitigation, market share growth, industry expertise, efficiency enhancement, first-to-market strategies, Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), and geopolitical risk mitigation.

The name Google came from "googol," a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Responsibilities

  • Lead GPO support for a product area(s), acting as the key account manager and the 'advocate of procurement' to product area leadership representing GPO on relevant strategy development and planning forums. Serve as the entry point and point of escalation for all procurement related topics.
  • Lead, collaborate, and develop the overall procurement product area strategic roadmap in close collaboration with other procurement teams and the business product area.
  • Own successful outcomes at velocity and coordinate cross-functional procurement teams that support these initiatives.
  • Demonstrate excellent stakeholder focus, providing support, advice, and a ‘can do’ attitude that balances stakeholder requirements with proportionate risk management.
  • Develop a clear understanding of business needs and develop trusted partner relationships.
