Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in learning design.
  • Experience launching programs, including in person or virtual events, and organizing training programs or creating training content.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Management, Design, or a related field.
  • 4 years of experience in people management.
  • Experience leading complex strategic and operational initiatives across various functional domains and geographies.
  • Knowledge of taxonomies, learning design approaches and tools.
  • Ability to design and maintain standards and enable their deployment and activation across multiple teams of learning designers.

About the job

The Skills and Design Standards team within Mastery’s Global Curriculum team enables Mastery learning designers to build competency-based personalized learner journeys for internal and external training on Google’s ads business.

As the Head of Skills and Design Infrastructure, you will play a key role growing the capabilities and effectiveness of learning design teams across Mastery. You will do this by developing the key skills infrastructure, design processes and standards, and deployment of tools that the teams use in designing and maintaining their learning programs, enrolling the learning designers into key processes and tools, and building the capabilities of the learning design teams.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $221,000-$314,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Manage a team responsible for building and maintaining our skills standards, design processes and standards, and design technical insights.
  • Provide thought leadership on identifying learning design best practices, building scalable design process and activating around design and skill standards.
  • Partner with Mastery’s learning technology teams on the implications of learning technology from a design and learning designers’ perspectives.
  • Activate skills and design standards and processes across multiple learning design teams.
  • Lead on the development of learning design capabilities and infrastructure to meet the strategic needs for capability building across Global Business Organization.
