Senior UX Researcher, YouTube Create

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in an applied research setting, or similar.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, or related field.
  • 5 years of experience conducting UX research on products and working with executive leadership (e.g., Director level and above).
  • Experience conducting foundational and tactical research.
  • Experience conducting research.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Hindi fluently to conduct research and communicate with clients in the region.

YouTube Create is an AI-powered video editing app designed to help creators in crafting short and long-form videos for publishing on YouTube and more. The team works to bring more creation tools to people, on their mobile devices, utilizing Google’s Machine Learning (ML) and AI abilities to make the process of creating and editing videos easier and faster.

As an Executive UX Researcher, you will leverage research insights to inform the early stages of development of create and its growth. You will conduct work to see the future of how mobile creators around the world express their creativity and tell their stories. You will also collaborate with other UX researchers and cross-functional partners from other YouTube teams, including Shorts, Live, and Advanced Capabilities and Effects (ACE) to support mobile creation.

Responsibilities

  • Influence stakeholders across organizations to gain support for research-based, user-centric solutions. 
  • Own project priorities in alignment with product goals, and oversee allocation of resources within the project. 
  • Drive ideas to improve products and services through research-driven insights and recommendations. 
  • Lead teams to define and evaluate product, service, ecosystem impact. 
  • Own strategy discussions through research by analyzing, consolidating, or synthesizing what is known about users, products, service, or business needs.
