Trade Compliance Operations Manager

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in trade compliance operations.
  • 7 years of experience working in a Trade Compliance Operations role.
  • Experience with North and South America import, country-specific trade regulations, ECCN classification regulations, and US export regulations.
  • Experience providing compliance process training to non-compliance stakeholders and working with third-party logistics partners.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working in a trade compliance role in the technology or telecom industry.
  • Experience working in an international, collaborative, cross-functional environment.
  • Experience with Google Workspace (e.g., Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of US export/import control and NASA country-specific trade regulations as well as demonstrated experience in customs broker management.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively develop and present information to senior level management.

The Global Logistics team ensures physical deliveries and installations happen on schedule so Google's virtual world keeps humming. As a member of the team, you design processes that enable scale and speed.

From global deployments of servers to the delivery of networking gear, you need to make sure the right equipment arrives at the right location at the right time. You will join the team that is responsible for developing logistics infrastructure to deploy Google’s compute power.

Our North and South American (NASA) Fulfillment network supports material movements to meet technical infrastructure demand throughout the region. As our business continues to scale, we want to take a deeper look at how to deliver equipment more efficiently, compliant with international trade rules and regulations, while driving excellent outcomes for our customers. In this role, you will manage trade compliance operations efficiently and at scale in the NASA region.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $105,000-$154,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Oversee customs brokers, carriers, and third-party logistics providers in the NASA region.
  • Monitor regulatory import and export requirements and business needs to implement smart solutions.
  • Publish trade compliance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide project management and subject matter support for key business unit(s) with their strategic initiatives.
  • Prepare trade compliance performance and periodic business reviews for service providers. Work in close partnership with logistics, trade compliance legal and enablement.
