Health Equity Clinical Specialist

Minimum qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree (e.g., MD, DO, DNP, DrPH, PhD) or equivalent practical experience in clinical, public health, biomedical informatics.
  • 5 years of experience in health disparities, health equity, or Social determinants of health (SDOH).
  • Experience in product development in a technology company environment.


Preferred qualifications:

  • Training in public health (e.g., MPH) and experience in approaches to health equity globally, especially with low-to-middle-income countries.
  • Computational skills in AI/ML and experience developing or using metrics for equity and disparities analyses.
  • Experience working with product development teams that specialize in product inclusion or personalization.
  • Experience developing health behavior change products and solutions with evidence of outcomes in real-world analytics and clinical studies.
  • Expertise in developing scalable tools and processes to support product teams in building equitable solutions.

About the job

In this role you will serve as the expert in health equity and social determinants of health (SDoH) across the enterprise to provide evidence-based guidance on reducing health disparities. You’ll advise research and product teams in integrating health equity into their work, elevating the highest priority groups, mitigating risks for increasing disparities and health outcome metrics to target in the context of each team’s work. You’ll also build and implement frameworks and tools to support the incorporation of health equity into AI model development and refinement across Google.

The Health Equity and SDoH Specialist will add important experience in health equity and social determinants of health, to support the development and implementation of research in support of evidence-based, inclusive generative AI and product development.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $171,000-$257,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Use health equity and clinical expertise to provide guidance, insights and direction on health-related products and features for Google’s health-focused products, working very closely with product teams.
  • Use expertise in health equity and SDoH to advise teams across Google in identifying opportunities to mitigate health disparities and immediate and long-term actions to execute in product and research plans, and support teams in the product development process.
  • Leverage experience in the health equity and SDoH to independently drive and serve as a key contributor to the product development process. 
  • Respond to the needs of the business and projects prioritizing effort effectively. This may require leading on certain projects and contributing to others.
  • Serve as an internal voice for Google’s health equity-focused work
