Revenue Accountant, Google Play

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in SOX risk assessment, scoping, testing, deficiency assessment, and concluding/reporting.
  • Experience in Big 4 public accounting as well as in a business accounting operational role.
  • Experience with SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
  • Knowledge of United States GAAP, with a focus on business recognition.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional, fast-paced environment and to drive complex operational initiatives.
  • Excellent problem solving skills, combined with solid business judgment, and ability to communicate effectively with executive management.

Google accountants are a savvy bunch who handle the core accounting responsibilities at Google. You know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. As a Revenue Accountant, you will oversee the accounting operations associated with Google Play Points, one of the world’s largest loyalty programs. This will include completing all tasks associated with period-end close, responding to data requests, and performing periodic analysis of the financial impact of the program.

Additionally, you will help project manage the annual SOX work stream with respect to manual controls within the Google Play product area. This will include helping facilitate the completion of annual process document refreshes, walk through, and controls testing, as well as helping analyze and remediate identified control deficiencies.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $99,000-$145,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage global processes for the Google Play Points program.
  • Record journal entries and performance of account reconciliations.
  • Perform ad-hoc accounting projects as needed to support the proper accounting of the business in accordance with United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Coordinate with external specialists as needed to complete annual breakage analysis.
  • Oversee the completion of annual SOX walk through and testing within Google Play by management and external auditors.
