Principal Technical Architect, Public Sector

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of work experience in software, hardware, or infrastructure engineering, with a focus on technical innovation and engineering leadership.
  • Experience in building ML/AI products.
  • Experience leading strategy initiatives.
  • Experience coaching executive technical leaders and practitioners on cloud and AI adoption.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree, MBA, or PhD in a technical field.
  • Experience transitioning scaled products and platforms, materially impacting the strategic product and business plans of a sizable organization.
  • Experience in data science, Machine learning (ML) or AI (e.g., products, platforms).
  • Experience delivering mission solutions to the department of defense and other US agencies.
  • Knowledge of procurement and other government specific issues.
  • Knowledge of government compliance frameworks, such as FedRAMP, NIST 800-53 and others.

In this role, you will create and reinforce the pathways between Google engineering and our most strategic public sector customers and partners, allowing us to start from loosely defined, potentially transformative market opportunities and convert them into new, technology enabled businesses. You will help government agencies create their future and help us create the future of Google by continuously tuning our innovation system and products to the needs of the world’s most complex enterprises. You will deliver significant business and public sector outcomes through cloud related innovation.

We focus on helping United States public sector institutions accelerate their digital transformations, and we continue to make significant investments and grow our team to meet the complex needs of local, state and federal government and educational institutions.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $221,000-$314,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Partner with our Engineering and Product teams to identify and test strategic, horizontal opportunities for differentiation across our roadmaps with a particular focus on AI.
  • Identify future state of cloud products and partner closely with technical teams.
  • Help our strategic customers and partners work through the complexity of adopting cutting edge cloud and AI technologies through expert advice.
  • Inspire others internally and externally to work through difficult and disruptive endeavors through sharing experiences, successes, failures and the human side of advanced technology, development and adoption.
