Director, Infrastructure Modernization

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other Quantitative field (e.g., Physics, Mathematics, Statistics) or equivalent practical experience.
  • 20 years of experience in planning, business development, or experience in evaluating, incubating, and launching technology or innovations within a cloud computing/machine learning environment. Experience leading technical transformation in an enterprise environment.
  • 10 years of executive level customer-facing experience in the enterprise space, translating customer needs into solutions. Experience translating a sub-vertical into opportunities, internally and externally.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience leading and managing a team to thrive in ambiguity in a dynamic, highly matrixed environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries, build relationships, and import and export talent and ideas to achieve a broader organizational goal.
  • Ability to quickly learn, understand, and work with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Cloud/IT technology space.
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to deliver a polished, professional business, and technical pitch to the C-Suite and Board levels.
  • Network of industry executives at leading companies across the industry ecosystem.

About the job

As a Director, Infrastructure Modernization and Networking, within Google Cloud Customer Engineering, you'll bring experience and thought leadership to help set outlook, mission, and strategy for technology solution pillars. You'll lead a cross-Google working team through critical engagements with global brands, identify and parse industry trends in cloud computing to recommend, plan for, and address core market opportunities.

In this role, you'll develop solution initiatives and materials to support them with a cross-functional group of stakeholders to help define solutions, use cases, and their growth strategy at Google Cloud. You will help ensure technical/commercial readiness of these solutions, including assets to enable the Go-To-Market teams, and provide field feedback to Product and Engineering teams to help shape product direction.

Additionally, you will set Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and measurements for solutions adoption, and recommend ways for customers to adapt to challenges facing modern enterprises related to scale, speed, and user expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Apply your vast industry experiences to design customer solutions­, collaborate with sales, services, training, support and to help partners and customers learn to leverage Google Technology.
  • Leverage your knowledge and domain expertise to guide customers through their transformation journey and act as a trusted advisor.
  • Build, inspire, and lead a cross-functional distributed practice of specialist Customer Engineers across APAC.
  • Be an advocate of Google Cloud for your specialist focus area which includes press and analyst communities, customers, and partners.
  • Reflect the opinions of the Regional customers, partners, and field to influence a data-driven outlook and direction for technology, solutions, and use case development at Google Cloud.
