Business Analyst, Youtube Trust and Safety

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Operations Research, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience working in data analytics, consulting, data science, engineering, or a technical operations role.
  • 1 year of experience in statistical problem-solving and analyzing data sets using SQL or comparable coding language (e.g., Python, R, Java, C++).

Preferred qualifications:

  • 4 years of experience in an investigative role.
  • Experience in project management and process optimization with data analytics.
  • Experience in extracting, sampling and visualization of large data sets.
  • Experience in delivering production level metrics, insights and actions.
  • Experience writing and maintaining ETLs which operate on a variety of structured and unstructured sources.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

As a Business Analyst, you will utilize data and problem-solving techniques to define success metrics for Youtube Trust and Safety operations, measure business performance, and communicate convincing narratives to executives. You will work with key business partners to understand data needs, write Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) scripts and collaborate closely with other internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, build, measure performance on operational metrics (e.g., productivity, service level agreement, quality, cost, efficiency, timeliness), and generate insights to improve the efficiency of our operations.
  • Understand user impact of policies, become an expert in what moves the key metrics and conduct detailed analyses that result in actionable insights to enhance user experience on the platform.
  • Run ongoing and ad-hoc analyses in support of site-wide Trust and Safety objectives as well as operational effectiveness and incident response.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Legal, Public Relations, and Product Management teams to craft convincing narratives to key policy makers, executives, governments based on data-driven approach.
  • Partner with data science and strategy teams to prioritize and execute sophisticated quantitative analyses and advanced modeling that delivers actionable insights.
