Business Finance Analyst, Cross Programs, Google Customer Solutions

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, consulting, a related function, or an advanced degree.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience using SQL to extract and manipulate data, building reporting dashboards, and in programming languages such as R, Python.
  • Experience with financial modeling, trends, and developing insights.
  • Experience working on teams that manage data projects, and with Agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge of conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling, and data architecture.
  • Ability to motivate colleagues and collaborate to help influence senior leadership.
  • Excellent communication and partnership skills.

Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. Working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture challenges.

As someone who knows the workings of the core Finance team inside and out, you'll lead individual projects to transform planning, tracking and control processes. You'll provide senior level management with insightful recommendations, planning and reporting support.

Finance is part of Google’s Financial Planning and Analysis organization, providing financial and analytical support to Google’s business organization. The Google Customer Solutions Finance team partners with sales and cross-functional leadership to provide analytical insights and recommendations on key business decisions. The team is responsible for core operations such as forecasting and budgeting, and act as trusted advisors to the leadership team on topics such as business performance, risks and opportunities, market acceleration plans, and resource allocation. As a Financial Analyst, you will model business scenarios and track performance metrics for leaders to make strategic company decisions.

From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial results and key performance metrics to support decision making, build and maintain financial models to identify the viability of projects, analyze expected returns, and support resource allocation.
  • Provide decision support for operational decisions and project decisions through financial analysis.
  • Deliver data solutions that tell a story and provide insights to the users, enabling them to make better decisions and more efficiently complete responsibilities.
  • Incorporate best practices for reporting, dashboards and scorecards, and data visualization to ensure data solutions fill the information gaps of the finance organization.
  • Lead release schedules and milestones along stages of a project’s life-cycle, coordinating across multiple teams across Google to ensure delivery of best data products/solutions.
