Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA)
  • 10 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 8 years with with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance.
  • Experience building, developing, or leading a team.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in reviewing agreements in the technology industry.
  • Experience in Google Sheets or other spreadsheet technology.
  • Understanding of accounting principles, including US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with executive management and cross-functional business partners.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent accounting skills.

Google accountants are a savvy bunch who handle the core accounting responsibilities at Google. You know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end-to-end. You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. In this role, you will advise on financial and accounting matters. You will review, analyze, and interpret data for accounting and reporting. You collaborate with our global team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a dynamic team of accountants focused on driving business growth through proactive agreement support and innovative accounting solutions.
  • Ensure accurate business recognition by conducting agreement reviews of cloud commit agreements, aligning with Accounting Standards Codification (ASC) 606 standards.
  • Evaluate complex customer agreements and document technical business assessment (e.g., relative standalone promoting price analysis) and proactively influence agreement structures during negotiations to optimize financial terms and support complex agreement.
  • Identify and leverage technology to automate and innovate internal processes and develop knowledge over Google products and create solutions to enable accounting for new product launches and business opportunities.
  • Participate in cross-team initiatives towards process improvements and efficiencies by incorporating business partner and team feedback and industry best practices.
